TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – The Kansas Children’s Discovery Center in Topeka is boasting record numbers.
The center announced Tuesday that it welcomed 88,423 visitors in 2018. The number is a new annual high, and is up more than 10 percent from 2017.
KCDC says more than 30 percent of the guests came from outside Shawnee County, including three foreign countries. They credit last fall’s traveling Mo Willems exhibit, and more student field trips for the attendance increase.
KCDC opened in 2011 on the grounds of Gage Park. Since then, it has seen more than 600,000 visitors, representing all 50 states and 23 countries.
